2014 Subaru WRX STI revealed – and it’s coming to the UK
We learnt last week that the new Subaru WRX STI was heading for a debut at the Detroit Auto Show and it’s now arrived, as has confirmation that the new WRX STI is going on sale in the UK too. Subaru UK has confirmed that because the Yen has weakened there’s now a strong enough case to put the new WRX STI on sale in the UK, and that it will cost less than the original list price of the old model at £28,995. The new WRX STI gets the familiar 2.5 litre four-pot delivering 305bhp and 290lb/ft of torque, sent to all four wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox.

Kia Cee'd Estate: the lowdown
Kia is rapidly making inroads into European markets. This new Cee'd estate is light years away from the shonky Kias of old - and it'll go on sale in August for around £500 more than the hatchback. At 4.5m long, it's 235mm longer than the hatch and has a marginally stretched wheelbase to free up some more space for family clobber.
Australian auto culture magazine, Fuel, has created this beautiful short film, Factory 6, featuring an interview with Melbourne-based, Detroit-raised Ford Chief Designer, Craig Metros. The film explores the shared Melbourne workshop space in which Metros and five other designers work on a number of automotive and art projects in their spare time. It offers a great insight into his inspirations, his feelings on making the jump from Detroit to Melbourne and how it feels to have fulfilled a childhood dream.
